The latest Builders Merchant Building Index (BMBI) report shows that builders鈥� merchants鈥� takings in February were down 2.7% compared to the same month in 2024. Volumes were flat (down 0.1%) while prices dropped by 2.6%.
With one less trading day in February 2025 than February 2024, like-for-like sales volumes were up by 2.2%.
While down on the year, February鈥檚 takings were 4.4% higher than January鈥檚. Month-on-month volume sales rose 8.0% and prices were down by 3.4%.
Total revenue in the year to February 2025 was down 4.0% on the previous 12-month period, with volumes down 3.5% and prices down 0.4%.
